Sarah Hayden Buckfire & Buckfire P.C. Paralega Scholarship winner

SOUTHFIELD, MI – November 1, 2021 – Buckfire Law is pleased to announce Sarah Hayden of Huntersville, North Carolina, has been named this year’s recipient of the 2021 Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Paralegal Scholarship.

This annual award began in 2018 as a way for the Michigan-based law firm to show its commitment to helping paralegal students pursue their certification and ultimate career goals.

Hayden is currently enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College to obtain her Paralegal Certificate. She previously earned her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science and English at William Woods University and her master’s degree in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh.

Hayden has always enjoyed learning, and through her studies, she realized English was not her passion, but instead discovered her love for education policy and civil rights.

“I would love to attend law school if the opportunity presents itself,” said Hayden. “I love to learn. Learning about the law has engaged me more than any other academic focus I have pursued.”

As Hayden nears her graduation date, she continues to focus on her goals to work in the education or civil rights legal field as a paralegal, and plan for a future as a lawyer.

Hayden strongly believes that having a strong educational foundation, as well as good problem-solving skills will be the best way she can work around any barriers to reach her goals. “While I may have taken the indirect route, I will work and learn my way to where I want to be.”

“Sarah is a great example of finding your passion, regardless of age,” said Lawrence J. Buckfire, President and Lead Trial Attorney at Buckfire Law. “We’re thrilled to name her the Buckfire Law Paralegal Scholarship winner this year.”
