  • Law School Diversity Scholarship – Highlights a student on the path to, or currently in law school who values diversity in their community.
  • Medical Diversity Scholarship – Highlights a student on the path to, or currently in medical school who values diversity in their community.

Special Needs Hero Award

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. has worked with many families over the decades facing unforeseen events. When children are born with disabilities or special needs are caused due to accidental injury, it is often special education school teachers and workers that make the biggest difference in a child’s life. To honor these individuals, we host the Special Needs Hero Nomination and recognize these unsung heroes who are often overlooked by the community.

Families, students, and friends were encouraged to nominate a local special education teacher or worker who stands out. Winners were selected based on how they go above and beyond their classroom, how they stand out to their students, and how they make a difference at school and outside of it.

The winner received a $250 cash prize, a $250 cash prize to the school, organization, or non-profit of their choice, as well as a pizza party for up to 25 people.

Detroit PAL-oween

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. had a frightfully good time at this year’s annual PAL-oween event on Sunday, Oct. 27, hosted by Detroit PAL. The annual event was open to all PAL families and everyone in attendance was invited to trick or treat and enjoy all the fall festivities at The Corner Ballpark, including bounce houses, sack races, and face painting.

Buckfire Law is a proud sponsor of PAL-oween, and a big supporter of Detroit PAL and their efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of Detroit’s children. Detroit PAL is a non-profit organization impacting the lives of more than 14,000 children each year.

Bikes for Kids Giveaway

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. hosted its first Bikes for Kids Giveaway, where 10 deserving children were nominated by teachers, mentors or parents and were selected to win a brand new bike. The winning children were chosen based on their work in the community, stories about their home and school life, and if they had ever owned a bike before!

In an effort to promote bike safety, each child was also given a helmet fit just for them donated by Ascension Hospital in Rochester. We all remember learning to ride a bike for the first time, and providing this experience to these amazing children was exciting and inspiring!
