Buckfire Law is pleased to announce the 2023 winners of their scholarship programs:
- Samantha (Sammie) Harker, of Anaheim, Cali., has been named this year’s recipient of the 2023 Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Disability Scholarship. Harker was 15 years old when she memorized 1,294 digits of pi, and gave a TEDx talk about it. She was also 15 when diagnosed with autism. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Arizona State University.
- Eva Romero-Sutherland, of Los Angeles, Cali., has been named this year’s recipient of the 2023 Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Law School Diversity Scholarship. Romero-Sutherland is a first-generation Mexican-American law student and former public school educator. She is currently enrolled at UCLA School of Law.
- Aliana Rao, of Philadelphia, Penn., has been named this year’s recipient of the 2023 Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Medical School Diversity Scholarship. Rao is a Pakistani Muslim who grew up in a suburban Pennsylvania town. She is currently enrolled at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
- Victoria Russell, of Bossier City, Louisiana, has been named this year’s recipient of the 2023 Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Paralegal Scholarship. Russell currently works full-time at a law firm, where she quickly learned how much she loves reading, writing, and trial preparations. Russell is currently enrolled in Louisiana State University’s Paralegal Studies Program.
Throughout the past decade, Buckfire Law has offered four separate academic scholarships annually for students seeking to continue their education.
