Jeremy Thompkins Farming Hills Basketball Coach Sexual AssaultOur Michigan doctor sex assault lawsuit lawyers are investigating cases against former Farmington Hills basketball coach Jeremy Thompkins. Thompkins, a former junior varsity basketball coach at Farmington High School, was fired in October after an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations.

Thompkins is facing a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Thompkins has pleaded not guilty and was given a $250,000 personal bond with a GPS tether and house arrest.

Three other coaches were also terminated, including the high school’s varsity head basketball coach, who were allegedly aware of the interactions between Jeremy Thompkins and the student athletes but did not report them. Police are currently investigating these claims.

Thompkins was arrested in late October 2023 and has been charged with criminal sexual conduct. He is innocent until proven guilty, and police are investigating all leads.

Thompkins November 2023 Preliminary Examination Hearing

In October 2023, Thompkins was charged with criminal sexual conduct after allegedly assaulting two high school boys at his Detroit home. Authorities accuse Thompkins of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy at his home between August and October 2023.

At the preliminary examination hearing, both teenagers spoke about Thompkins promising to train them for the NBA and help with their resell business. They also detailed instances where Thompkins allegedly gave them unwanted feet, calf and thigh massages.

Under the law, he is innocent until proven guilty in his criminal cases.  In civil lawsuits seeking money compensation by complainants, the standard for finding him liable for damages is by a “preponderance of the evidence,” which is a lesser standard than in criminal cases.  Even if he were to be found not guilty of his criminal charges, he can still be held accountable in civil cases.

Thompkins 2008 Allegations

Thompkins was charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in 2008. Detroit police say the case involved allegations that Thompkins inappropriately touched a 17-year-old boy at his home. Thompkins was the child’s weight trainer at the time of the allegations.

The case was dismissed in 2008 at trial by Judge Thomas Jackson on a motion for a directed verdict.
