July 14, 2014 –  Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. is pleased to announce Ms. Quynh Le as the recipient of the law firm’s 2014 Medical School Diversity Scholarship!  She will receive $2,000.00 toward her medical school education for the award.  Ms. Le was selected from over fifty applicants from throughout the United States.   Quynh Le has completed three years of medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington.

Originally from Vietnam, Quynh is from a single-parent family who immigrated to the United States when she was five years old.  Her father raised his two young daughters in a government housing complex.  He taught them important core values and instilled a strong work ethic.   Quynh graduated magna cum laude with a dual degree in mathematics and molecular biology from Washington State University before attending medical school. Ms. Quynh Le

Quynh aspires to become a physician because of her strong desire to provide healthcare to underserved populations. She is very active in contributing to the diversity of her medical school and has outstanding academic achievements.  She will be a great asset to both her community and the medical profession.

Students who applied for the Medical School Diversity Scholarship must be a member of an ethnic or racial minority, or been an individual who demonstrates a commitment to issues of diversity during their medical school education.  Applicants must be currently attending an accredited medical school within the United States and possess academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA.   Applicants submitted an essay describing how they planned to use their medical degree to promote ethnic diversity.
