    Calvin Township Truck Accident

    A Calvin Township truck accident injured a Jones woman.  Robin Troup, 52, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Mount Zion Street and Cassopolis Road and ran into the side of a semi tractor-trailer.  She was taken to Borgess Medical Center and is listed in fair condition.  The truck driver was not hurt.

    I am very sorry this accident occurred.  I hope that Robin Troup is able to have a full recovery.

    In an accident like this, the first thing to do is submit a claim for Michigan No Fault insurance.  No Fault benefits will pay for medical expenses, lost wages, household replacement services, attendant care, and other benefits.  The exact amount someone gets from their No Fault insurance depends on how severely that person was injured. 

    Next, it will be important to determine if Robin Troup can bring a lawsuit against the truck driver or his employer.  She may be able to sue if she was seriously injured.  Whether she can sue or not depends on many circumstances including how badly she was injured and how her life has been affected by the accident.  She should speak with a lawyer to help her figure out if she has a lawsuit and to get help submitting her No Fault claim.
